Assessment 0bjective 3 - Create a navigation bar or menu bar For this assessment objective you need to create the navigation bar you designed in AO2. IT IS STONGLY ADVISED THAT YOU COMPLETE A04 BEFORE YOU COMPLETE AO3 To achieve a pass: Basic Navigation Bar Page 1 would link to unit 1, page 2 would link to unit 2 and the home page would link to, well, the home page! So what do you think? Is it appropriate for the target audience of this website? Is it suitable for the purpose? Is it a good combination of text and graphics? This might allow me to achieve a pass as I have used a table and have used some colour and is suitable for the purpose. To achieve a merit: To achieve a merit these graphics would have to use colour well (fit in with the house style of the website) and have appropriate text. To achieve a distinction: Candidates will produce an effective navigation bar/menu bar that makes good use of colour and is fit for purpose and audience. There is some use of drop-down boxes or expanding/collapsing menus. Complex navigation bar
The example below shows how it is possible to change the position of the drop down menu. This time it is below the trigger (image). I have also changed the colour scheme and removed the border.
This final example shows the drop down menu position set to the top right of the trigger.
As I am using a drop down menu I am hitting the requirements of the distinction criteria. If you need support in creating a a navigation menu in Dreamweaver go to the graphics tutorials page. |
