Activity 6 - Assessment Objective 6 - Testing your website In this Activity you will print out the website. You will then test a number of areas of your website using a test table. This will enable the website to be improved, making it better for the future.
Use the activities below to produce evidence for your assignment. A. You should now print out your web pages now that you have addressed Assessment Objectives 3, 4 and 5. To achieve a Distinction, whole pages will be printed (all information will fit onto the page and will not be cut off!). Webpages must be printed from a web browser not from your web authoring software.
B. Produce a test table for use when testing the website. You must conduct at least four tests from the following: • suitability for target audience • purpose of website • use of consistent housestyle • navigation system • use of different components • interactive elements • hyperlinks • user form • ease of use. At Pass level at least four tests must be carried out. To achieve a Merit, at least five tests that cover the main areas of the website must be carried out. To achieve a Distinction, at least six tests must be carried out that cover all the main areas of the website and any action required to solve any problems must be given (The test table could be produced using a word-processed document).
C Where appropriate, for the tests carried out for Part B, provide annotated webpages, code or screenshot printouts highlighting before and after changes. At Pass level, there is no requirement to complete Part C. At Merit and Distinction level if you have found no problems during your testing, this must be recorded on the test table and no further evidence will be required for Part C. (This must be evidenced using annotated screenshots, printouts of HTML code or by annotations on your test table from Part B) |
