Task 2:  Select and use tools and facilities to download files/information 

Part of Assessment Objective 2 is assessed in this task (Web browser) 

You will need to use search engines to find out about mobile phones.  You will need to provide evidence of the search criteria you have used. 

Read all of the activities below before you start.

Pass Activities
A  Use internet search engines to search for and collect information about the different mobile phone handsets which will be sold on the web site and advertised in your newsletter (task 7) Screendump then annotate. Evidence for this could be annotated screen shots showing the search criteria you have used and some of the web pages you have found. 

B  Provide the web site addresses you have used  Print. Evidence for this could be a list of the web site addresses you have accessed.

To achieve the higher grades you will also need to: 

C  Locate suitable text and images on local media e.g. CD ROM  Screendump then annotate

D  Use effective/advanced search criteria e.g. keywords, quotes, Boolean operators  e.g. AND / OR / NOT Screendump then annotate

E  Comment on the trustworthiness/validity/date of your sources  Screendump then annotate

F  Use favourites to store/organise your useful links into folders  Screendump then annotate

G  Obtain a number of copyright free text and graphic(s) which can be used in the newsletter. The text/graphics obtained must be “legal, decent and honest”.  Provide screen shots and an explanation to show how the text/graphics comply with legislation.  Screendump then annotate
